Timothy B Cavanaugh, MD

	n practice since 1991, Dr. Cavanaugh is a noted anterior segment surgeon and innovator in Ophthalmology. He has performed 1000s of laser vision correction procedures and was a key researcher who helped bring LASIK approval to the USA. He was the 1st surgeon in the region to use the microkeratome used in modern day LASIK procedures. He also has extensive experience in small incision cataract surgery and is nationally recognized for his work in corneal transplantation. Dr. Cavanaugh received both his MD degree and his ophthalmic residency at the Univ of Kansas where he was honored as Chief Resident. He then completed a Fellowship in advanced corneal & refractive surgery at the Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore; consistently named the best eye hospital in the nation. Dr. Cavanaugh is an active teacher & lecturer at medical meetings with numerous textboook & journal articles to his credit. He was recently named one of the top two Ophthalmolgists in Kansas City
