Mark Packer serves as Clinical Associate Professor at Oregon Health & Sciences University. His research focuses on refractive surgery and intraocular lens technology. He is Principal Investigator for the MEL-80 Excimer Laser, Coordinating Investigator for the Tecnis Z9000 Intraocular Lens, and Medical Monitor for the Tecnis Multifocal Intraocular Lens, as well as Principal Investigator for the Synchrony Accommodative Lens. Dr. Packers recent publications appear in The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Journal of Refractive Surgery. He edited Refractive Lens Surgery published by Springer and served as editor for the Functional Vision issue of International Ophthalmology Clinics. He has edited the Cataract and IOL issues of Current Opinion in Ophthalmology for 2005-9. He chairs the Cataract Clinical Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In 2005 he was elected to membership in the International Intra-Ocular Implant Club.
