Dr. Alan R. Faulkner, M.D., grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii from the age of eight. He graduated from Punahou School and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, graduating in 1986. While in medical school he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national Medical School Honors Society. He remained at Tulane completing an internship in Internal Medicine, residency training in Ophthalmology, and a fellowship in Oculoplastic, Ocular Oncology, and Orbital Disease. Upon completion of his training, Dr. Faulkner joined the full-time faculty at Tulane as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. While at Tulane he served on numerous academic committees; he was the Residency Program Director of Ophthalmology for four years; he was Ophthalmology Section Chief at Charity Hospital of New Orleans; and he directed the Oculoplastics, Ocular Oncology, and Orbital Disease Service at Tulane
